Owners & Staff:

Owners, Tom and Michelle Pepin, are a complimentary husband and wife duo who have worked in the restaurant business their entire careers. Tom, as executive chef, anchors the company, focusing on superb food quality in the Restaurant, Catering Division and Seafood Market. Michelle, as the General Manager and Functions Coordinator, focuses her attention on service and operations, working one-on-one with customers and building community relationships. She is motivated by her client’s ideas and makes it a priority to implement them into the menus. Working together, their teamwork is complimented by over 50 employees who have been making the Ipswich Clambake Company a North Shore favorite since 1976.

Tom has worked in virtually every aspect of the restaurant industry. He began his career as a fry cook at McIntyre’s of Rowley and after college became a General Manager and Tableside Chef at the Eagle House of Rowley. This was followed by the 1640 Hart House in Ipswich where he was the Manager and Executive Chef until purchasing the Ipswich Clambake Company in 2001. Tom’s passion for cooking is reflected in his delicious soups and sauces, and his ability to consistently produce the same great dishes season after season.

Michelle has committed her entire career to the restaurant business which began in her teenage years at two of her families’ local restaurants. Later, while raising their three children, she worked in various administrative capacities and today she focuses on menu development, customer relations, and event management. She is the expert on organizing all the intricate details of clients’ events and is the master planner. She is an active member of the North Shore Women in Business and a Board Member for the Ipswich Chamber of Commerce.  Additional organizations Michelle and Tom have corporate memberships with are The Beverly Chamber of Commerce, The Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, and the North Shore Chamber of Commerce.
